If an installation requires more secure bonding, the insulation can be glued to the underside of the riser cover with 3M Fastbond Contact Adhesive 30 N-F. This is a water based adhesive that dries in 30 minutes. Apply the adhesive to the ribs of the riser cover and press the insulation into the ribs until secure. If a faster drying time is required use 3M Scotch-Weld Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive. This solvent based product works well on insulation material. Screws can also be used as a non-adhesive means for securing the insulation to the cover if desired. Installing a minimum of two #10 x 1.5” stainless steel screws through the radial rib on the cover’s underside and into the insulation will secure the insulation to the riser cover without the use of an adhesive.
